Our hotel is close to Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, home of the Rangers and the Rangers Hall of Fame. Take the quick 10-mile drive north from your comfortable and cozy hotel room to the park to catch a game and celebrate the Rangers. This is a baseball-only arena, designed to exclusively host games of America’s pastime.
Originally opened as the Ballpark in Arlington, this baseball field has gone through a few name changes before Globe Life Insurance purchased the naming rights in 2007. A new field with a retractable roof, called the Globe Life Field is scheduled to open in 2020, which will be right next door to the current field. The new field will have a retractable roof, designed to keep players and baseball fans cooler in the Texan summer heat.
From our hotel, take I-20 right at our door and then TX-360 to Globe Life Park in Arlington. On game day, you’ll want to arrive early, as the area gets quite busy. After all, the park has a capacity of over 45,000 guests. Tailgating is welcomed, following safe guidelines. A ticket for that day’s game is required, and the parking spaces are for vehicles (no tents, grills, chairs) only. Tailgating activities should take place on the grassy areas, from the time the lot opens until the 2nd inning.
Once you’re inside the park, enjoy the specially-designated sections of the park that suit the need of any baseball fans, including an alcohol-free section (335) and the All-You-Can-Eat Porch, where your ticket includes unlimited sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, peanuts, popcorn, and soft drinks.
